Some bloggers and marketers are reporting a very harmful virus attacks to their blogs, causing nasty results.
This virus it’s attacking hostgator and other hosting services too, so need to take some measures if you want to be protected.
This malware start attacking your own computer, once there start searching for your username and passwords filed in password storage programs as RoboForm, password banks and FTP programs.
The second stage its to attack your server using your own FTP program to install malicious codes in your index page, so this code make Firefox display the horrible screen “REPORTED ATTACK SITE” and prevent the access to your website, of course you will lost traffic, and maybe some people never back again.
Then, in order to fix it, you will invest a lot of time and effort searching the code on all your pages to delete and restore your original content. Of course this is almost like a nightmare.
In order to avoid this problem you must take some simple steps:
1.- Delete all you passwords from password banks, roboform and FTP program.
2.- Change your FTP passwords
3.- Run a malware scan on your computer in order to ensure your computer it’s clean:
4.- Exist some suspicion about Acrobat Reader have some vulnerablilty, so if you don’t have the last version, update it now.
